Yep, back in the saddle after a nice weeklong vacation. A gazillion things to take care of, both personal and business (though, with my life, the boundary between those two categories often seems to get a little fuzzy).
Nice to see that there was so much traffic on this site last week, even with the Thanksgiving holiday (or maybe that was because of the holiday - surfing for literary agents, like checking sports scores, seems to be an activity reserved for slow time at the office).

Just thought I'd make a quick entry after updating the "Bill's Buds" page. Okay, so maybe it isn't a "dynamic forum" yet (I'm sure it would help if I read and voted on more of the stories myself), but all the building blocks are there.
We'll see how much additional interest my own personal site gets after the new Unity content is digested by the web search engines. The principle of "Build it, and they will come" most certainly applies to Web pages.
And Happy Thanksgiving, Viewers. I'll be in London next week, most likely checking email but making no commitment to do as much and certainly making no commitment to post anything new.

Whew! As you might be able to tell from the Unity site, yours truly has been a little busy lately. Let's see if it flies.

Since my last posting: watched Unity's membership double, a new platform be approved (okay, okay, so it's a carbon copy of the Unity Runners platform, but, in a democracy, you gotta dot your i's and cross your t's), and saw myself voted party chairman. Not bad for two days' work.

Hmm, almost two weeks since my last entry.
Well, you can't accuse me of not being productive. Ran the marathon yesterday. Okay, maybe not so productive - my time was eight minutes slower than last year's. After a 24 and then some of reflection, I certainly think a few cups of Gatorade at the 1:30 mark and beyond, not to mention more consistent hill work during my training, would have made a big difference.
Well, it was nice to finally run a marathon cramp-free, and I was only following a training program I came across in Runner's World. As they say, hindsight is always 20/20.
But now I can aim that hindsight forward. I've already decided on the Ottawa Marathon Memorial Day weekend, and laid out my own custom training program (lots of hills included).
But first I'm going to enjoy my recovery phase (I can say "enjoy" without irony - thanks to a big helping of chocolate milk made with cocoa powder (an idea courtesy of...Runner's World)). Get off this darn computer, get another good night's sleep, and start to flesh out my plans for that British vacation coming up in a few weeks.
And, of course, I'll always be coming back to politics. Lately I've been working on the Unilist (details on that project to follow in a future posting), and, heck, even started a political party.
Seriously. I put a vote to the group, and, not surprisingly, no one voted against the proposal put forward by myself and supported by a handful of others. What was suprising was that no one left the group.
What it comes down to is that everyone has a wait-and-see attitude. Yes, just you wait, and you'll see what yours truly is capable of putting together.
For now, I'll just note it for the record and posterity: the Unity Party of
America was founded on November 4, 2004.
