Above are marathons listed on the Boston Athletic Association's Website as 2007 Boston Marathon Qualifiers. These marathons are ranked by
the fastest overall official (vs. net) marathon result of the last running (or the latest fastest overall official marathon result
available). These times are not necessarily course records, cannot be guaranteed for accuracy, and are merely intended to give aspiring
Boston Marathoners a general idea of which marathons are fastest, have the most participation, the strongest support network, etc. For
example, the Chicago Marathon's fastest overall finishing time not only reflects the flat and fast course, but also the fact that it's a
major marathon with a large, competitive field and strong organization which can benefit even those runners who are not elites.
***DO NOT sign up for a race to qualify for Boston 2008 or future Boston Marathons based solely on a race's appearance on this
page. Always check the event's website for the phrase "Boston Qualifier" - if you don't see "Boston Qualifier," ask the race organizers
if it is a qualifier and be sure to get an answer in writing - sometimes a race course is changed and loses its USA Track and Field or
foreign equivalent certification as being 26 miles, 385 yards or 42.195 kilometers in length (i.e., the official marathon distance).
