Forward, Not Back
To: bill@wrhammons.com Dear Bill, Last night, President Obama laid out an ambitious agenda for winning the future by out-educating, out-innovating, and out-building our competitors abroad. If you stayed tuned to hear the GOP response last night, you heard from Congressman Paul Ryan, our Republican budget chief in the House, who brought to the table the practical plan to move America forward, rather than the backsliding path into debt our country has been on the past two years. Our top priorities are creating private sector jobs, balancing the budget and reviving the health care debate, to repeal, defund and replace Obamacare. We can't afford to play political games, not when our future competitiveness hangs in the balance. We need to start making the right investments in education, infrastructure, research and development -- and getting our fiscal house in order so that our debt doesn't amount to generational theft of our childrens' futures. I am resolute in my commitment to move our country forwards, not backwards. If the Democrats want to prove to the American people that they're serious about our future, they'll turn their backs on their failed policies and the shameless politics of their recent past and join us in moving forward towards a stronger nation.
