Eagle County, Colorado

Eagle County includes the communities of Avon, Eagle, Gypsum, Minturn, and Vail.

Eagle County, Colorado was created by the Colorado state legislature on February 11, 1883 from portions of Summit County. Eagle County was named after the Eagle River which runs through it. The county seat was originally Red Cliff, but was moved to Eagle in 1921.
