Mount Bross, with an elevation of 14,172 feet, is ranked 22nd among Colorado's Fourteeners. This peak with a large rounded summit is often
climbed from Kite Lake along with Mounts Democrat and Lincoln (those who camp at Kite Lake and ascend all three summits can bag Mount Bross
on the way home). Bross can also be reached from the east via the Quartzville Creek drainage.
Be warned that the descent is rocky and that falling rocks from other climbers are a hazard. Also, please note that, as of June 2005,
some landowners are blocking access to Mounts Bross, Democrat, and Lincoln because of potential
liabilities; prior permission is needed to climb these mountains.
